RMS Titanic Glass Case


This is the glass case that started me in this hobby - sideline business.

Hand made base from an standard replacement Oak stairstep piece you can buy at your local Home Depot or Lowes Home Improvement.

I then routered out the groove that the glass would sit down inside it.

Lightly sanded it to "knock off" the real rough points.

Then "torched" the grain with a propane torch.

Stained with "Dark Walnut" #2716 Minwax Wood Stain.

15 coats of clear urethane.

I did NOT resand it after the clear coats since
I wanted it to have that "weathered look" as most ships would have.
